A Report by CATIE Central American Wildlife Trade
Abstract
With support from World Wildlife Fund-U.S., the Wildlands and Watershed Program of the Tropical Agricultural Training Center (CATIE), based in Costa Rica, set out in 1980 to document the extent and scope of wildlife trade in the region. CATIE staff analyzed existing legislation affecting trade, identified trade routes, charted trade procedures within responsible government agencies, and made recommendations for correcting problems.
