Resumen
This research integrates local and scientific knowledge to understand fire dynamics in the Trifinio Region. Using remote sensing (VIIRS, 2012–2024) and Q methodology, it analyzes spatial-temporal fire patterns and stakeholder perceptions. Results show increasing fire activity in pastures and agricultural areas, linked to deforestation and drought. Three discourses emerge: technocratic environmentalism, strict prevention, and subsistence fire defense. The study concludes that polycentric and inclusive fire governance, bridging local knowledge and institutional management, is essential for adaptive, sustainable, and socially just fire management under climate change.
