Efectos de varios espaciamientos en la producción de diferentes tipos de ajonjolí
Resumen
Experiments were conducted during 1952 and 1953 on densities and spacings of three distinct types of sesame varieties. These varieties were Venezuela 51 with only one central stem, Venezuela 52 with branches, and the Criolla variety with many branches. These experiments were put on in a 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 factorial design with 3 row widths, 3 varieties, 3 spacings between hill and 3 plant numbers per hill. The width between rows affected the yield with the closer spacing of 45 cms. giving a higher yield than the wider spacings of 60 and 90 cms. Highly significant differences in yield existed among the varieties with the Venezuela varieties giving higher yields than the Criolla variety.
The spacings between hills may vary from 10 to 30 cms. with one, two or three plants per hill with similar results.
