Determinación de conocimientos técnicos y pedagógicos en economía doméstica de algunas extensionistas en Colombia

Abstract

A study was made to determine the level of knowledge in order to discover the home demonstration agents training needs in Colombia. Seventy agents, working in six agricultural institutions were interviewed in groups ranging from 4 to 25 individuals at a time. Questionnaires with multiple choice were used in the tests. Among the results are: 1) The home demonstration agents' technical and socio-pedagogical knowledge is low; 2) They show a higher degree of knowledge in family relations and child care and development area; 3) Housing is the area where they have the lowest level of knowledge; 4) The agents have a lower level of knowledge than they expressed in their opinions. Recommendations are made to provide further training for the agents and to give opportunity for self-evaluation before and after training meetings in order to help the agents to discover their own learning needs.
