Abstract
Jaragua grass (Hyparrhenia rufo) was found to be a shortday plant with critical daylength about 12 hours 15 minutes Photomorphogenic effects ore discussed Appropriate controlled and natural pho-toperiods produced rather uniform flowering which was not associated with latitude or altitude of origin. Al-though no ecotypes were found individual desirable late-flowering plants were selected.
