Utilización de haploides en el mejoramiento del algodón
Résumé
From 298,470 floating seeds of Tangüis cotton (Gossypium barbadense L) 126 twin seeds were found. Sixty six per cent of these were haploid-diploid twins. From these 83 haploids, 33 developed into seedlings, their tops were cut and applications of colchicine were made. There was a doubling of chromosomes in seven haploids thus treated. They had more leaves, branches and flowers and abundant fertile pollen
