Correlación entre el número medio anual de meses ecológicamente secos y precipitación media anual en la provincia de Esmeraldas, Ecuador
Abstract
In order to study the climatology of Esmeraldas Province, meteorological data were compiled and tabulated from 12 stations well distributed throughout the province. Using these data and Gaussen’s method, the ombrothermic diagrams were drawn, and the number of physiologically dry days were determined.
Correlation was established between the mean number of dry months and the total annual rainfall. The analysis of the results show that dry months were negatively correlated with the annual rainfall. The comparison of this analysis with the ecological map of Ecuador indicates that it is necessary to modify several boundary lines on the map.
