Tabla de vida para el primer año de la población de Dipterodendron costaricense Radlk
Abstract
This paper presents a partial life table for the first year of a population of Dipterodendron costaricense Radlk, a common tree species of the Pacific region of Costa Rica and Panama
A high mortality rate was observed during the first three month due mainly to an initial weakness of seedlings and to the attack of cutters and fungi. A second period of high mortality rate occurred from late January to early March, corresponding to the most critical period of the dry season. From here on mortality was reduced to cero. The application of life tables to the study of plant populations seems to be a very promising field
