Efecto del ácido naftalenacético y del ácido 2, 4, 5-triclorofenoxipropiónico sobre la caída de frutos de manzano ´Red Delicious´y ´San Antonio´
Résumé
Foliar sprays of naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA 5 ppm and 10 ppm) and 2, 4, 5-trichlorophenoxypropionic acid (2, 4, 5-TP 10 ppm en 20 ppm) were applied prior to pre-harvest fruit drop in a commercial apple orchard in Huaral, Peru. The applications were made on ´Red Delicious´ and ´San Antonio´ apple varieties. On ´Red Delicious´, pre-harvest sprays of both growth regulators reduced apple drop. On ´San Antonio´ variety 20 ppm 2, 4, 5-TP was the more effective treatment among the chemicals tested. The growth regulators under study reduced apple drop, improved fruit color, and increased the total amount of fruit harvested from the trees.
