Effect of solar radiation on the growth parameters and yield of two varieties of common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
Abstract
Radiation alone produces effects on the characteristics of growth and production of crops of two varieties of feijão studied: 'Carioca' and 'Pintado'. High solar radiation promotes vegetative growth and increases production in both varieties; On the other hand, development was drastically suppressed by low intensity of solar radiation. The Carioca variety showed values of taxa of apparent assimilation and taxa of relative growth higher than that of the variety 'Pintado under conditions of high luminosity. Due to its high photosynthetic efficiency, Carioca varieties present higher grain production under both solar radiation regimes.
