Transmisión mecánica y algunas propiedades físicas del mosaico de Malvaviscus arboreus
Abstract
A serious disease of Malvaviscus arboreus in Sao Paulo, Brazil is reported. The disease is characterized by a systemic mottling and unwrinkling of the leaves of this ornamental plant.
This disease proved to be caused by a virus, as determined by host range and physical properties. The virus is transmitted mechanically by crude sap inoculation. Based on the results obtained, we arrived at the tentative conclusion that the virus harbored by plants of Malvaviscus arboreus is extraordinarily termostable and it is not very well known yet.
