Epocas de siembra y deshierbo para el cultivo de la quinua [Chenopodium quinoa] en condiciones del Altiplano de Puno, Perú.
Alternative title
Period of planting and weed control for the quinua crop [Chenopodium quinoa] in the Puno Highlands, Peru
Abstract
This study was undertaken to investigate the effects of two agricultural management variables, time periods for planting and weed control, on quinua (Chenoapodium quinoa) yield. On average rainfall distribution years it was found that middle september is the most suitable period to seed quinua in the Puno Highlands, Peru, conditions. And the best period for weed control is about 50 days after quinua was seeded. Beyond these time periods quinua yield significantly decreased as time delay to fulfill both practices increased.
