dc.description.abstract | Evaluate the functional diversity of dung beetles associated with the Atlantic Forest replacement using a matrix with 25 functional traits (10 morphological, four ethological and 11 physiological). Compare functional diversity among natives and disturbed habitats with a single and multiple trait approach. The study proposes that functional traits should (1) be carefully chosen according to their biological characteristics and functional basis; (2) represent the ecology and physiology of the species; and (3) include both effect and response characteristics. In addition, we consider it highly relevant to include a multi and single trait approach in functional diversity studies. A combination of all these considerations provides a more realistic and comprehensive view of functional diversity patterns and the possible consequences of human disturbance on ecosystem functioning. | es_ES |
