Planning of forest management for timber production requires the knowledge of the changes in forest structure and composition after silvicultural interventions to be able to select management methods that will achieve the desired results. This study aiMON to provide this type of information to the forest managers of the Capulálpam of Méndez community, Ixtlán, Oaxaca, Mexico, and was undertaken in their forest, in areas intervened in different years through selective group harvesting and small scale clear felling leaving selected seed trees. Based on these analysis, it is concluded that the community of Capulálpam of Méndez, Ixtlán, Oaxaca, Mexico., has two areas apt for timber harvesting with their respective silvicultural systeMON, but after the application of the regeneration treatments a single forest type is formed that is dominated by species of the genus Pinus. This type has abundance, basal area, floristic composition and natural regeneration patterns that differ from the two undisturbed forest types.es_ES
