Escenarios económicos para el manejo de la oferta del servicio ecosistémico de provisión y regulación del recurso hídrico para consumo humano en la subcuenca alta superior del río Pasto, Colombia

Abstract

Teniendo en cuenta que garantizar la disponibilidad de agua de calidad potable tiene un costo, se decidió estimar el valor económico de las acciones que cierto grupo de personas podrían asumir para lograr ofrecer el servicio ecosistémico de proveer y regular el recurso hídrico para consumo humano en la subcuenca alta superior del Río Pasto. En este sentido se priorizaron áreas críticas para el manejo de dicha oferta siguiendo la metodología propuesta por Retamal (2006). En el proceso se identificaron 3 niveles de prioridad, medio, alto y muy alto. En este escenario se involucran criterios que apuntan hacia el ingreso de la totalidad del área con prácticas de conservación y el ingreso gradual de áreas de bosque ripario dentro de las áreas prioritarias. Assuming the fact that assuring the supply of drinking potable water has a cost, it has been decided to estimate the economic value of actions that certain group of people could endure to achieve the ecosystem services of drinking water resource provision and regulating in the upper part of Pasto River subwatershed. In this sense, critical areas were prioritized for this supply management following the methodology proposed by Retamal (2006). In the process, 3 priority levels were identified: medium, high and very high. In this scenario, it has been included criteria that focus on the income for all areas with conservation practices and the income for riparian forest within the priority areas.
