The chemical composition and percentages of digestible nutrients are given for Molasses grass (Melinis minutiflora), Guatemala grass (Tripsacum laxum), Giant Napier (Pennisetum purpureum rar Napier), Pará (Panicum purpurascens), Zacatón (Panicum Spp), Napier Enano (Pennisetum purpureum) and Hybrid napier (Pennisetum purpureum) of the seven, Napier Enano appeared to have the highest protein content and the highest digestibility. A comparison is made of all the grasses studied to date in Guatemala Quinamul and Ramio are of equal value and are excellent, from the stand point of protein content The varieties of Napier are next in protein value and are good sources, especially when compared with molasses grass and Guatemala grass On a dry basis, the TDN content of all the grasses was from good to excellent. However, uben converted to an as fed basis Quinamul, Giant Napier, Hybrid Napier and Zacatón, bad low values.es_ES
