dc.description.abstractChronic irradiation at the Turrialba gamma field shows that, of four kind of palms, Guilielma graws vigourously at 250 r/day, but Cocas dies at 150 r/day Maximum dosis for survival of Areca catechu is 150 r/day, while Elaeis has a normal appearance at this exposure, although it is not as resistant to radiation as Guilielma. The DL of banano stems is around 20 Kr Pinus caribaea and P. halepensis grow normally with up to 16.2 r/day, but P. montezumae is found alive and green at 26 r/day (seven months exposure). Propagating stems of Panicum maximum budded more easily after moderate dosis of cronic gamma irradiation.es_ES
