Phosphorus ingestion and fecal excretion were measured using 14 forage samples from Venezuela supplied to groups of six adult cinque rams kept in individual compartments. The average signal absorption of phosphorus contained in the forages was 53 percent and the fecal excretion of endogenous phosphorus was 26.7 mg/kg of live weight. The intake of phosphorus to compensate for this noilization was approximately calculated at 2.5 g per day per 50 kg of live weight. The apparent absorption of ingested phosphorus (AAP) was related to the phosphorus content of the forage (Pc mg/100 g) by the following equation AAP 123.66log. Pc-301.63. This implies that you will need a forage that contains 275 mg/100 g. of phosphorus to maintain balance.es_ES
