The Venezuelan Llanos extend over 28 millions hectares and about 50 percent of them are covered with graminoid vegetation. The tribal spectrum of the Gramineae was studied according to Hartley. There are 49 generic taxons and 170 species in these Llanos The Paniceae and Andropogoneae are main tribes present. The gramineae tribe spectrum of the Venezuelan Llanos is typical of a tropical climate with a mean annual temperature 27-28% C and annual rainfall 1000-1500 falling during a 7 months period.es_ES
