Stomatal density and distribution in both sides of cigar leaves and also in the first and fourth leaves of three different ploidy (2n, 3n, 4n) musacea cultivars were studied. Tomatal density was higher in the 2n cultivar and very much alike in the 3n and 4n cultivars. In general, few differences on stomatal densityregarding the leaf number (age) were found. The distribution study showed that in all cultivars, stomates density was higher at the leafs medium section and near to the central venation, and lower close to its edge. Besides the above, stomatal density was also lower at the leafs proximal section, in relation to its insertion into the pseudostem, and higher at its distal and central parts.es_ES
