La función de las giberelinas sintetizadas en las semillas del fruto para el control de la floración en manzanos
Alternative title
The functioning of gibberelins synthesized in apple seeds to control the flowering of apple trees
Résumé
Diffusates collected front apple fruitlets during the period prior to flower initiation have shown that nrore gibberellins move out of biennial flowering cultivars "han from those which flower regularly Witbin any one cultivar the amount of gibberellin in diffusates was dependent on the number of seeds in the fruit, but between cultivars this was not the case. Applying tritiated gibberellins to seeds of fruit attached to the hee confirnt that in 'Laxton's. Superb, a strongly biennial flowering cultivar, more gibberellin moves ont of the fruit than in the more regular bearing 'Cox's Orange Pippir' The possible involventent of gibberellins diffusing from fruits in the inhibition of flower iniliation is discussed.
