Efectos comparativos en cultivos intensivos sobre nutrientes en oxisoles desforestados
Abstract
El objetivo del presente trabajo es valorar el efecto de diferentes tratamientos en pasto cultivado, cultivo de cacao y cultivo mixto de cacao y seringuerira, aplicados a oxisoles de Amazonia recientemente deforestados, sobre la fertilidad del suelo mediante la técnica de electroultrafiltración. Los resultados después de nueve años de experimentación, permiten concluir que el pasto cultivado contribuye a mantener los niveles de fertilidad del suelo n condición de aplicar una fertilización moderada de N, P y K. Dosis moderadas de K a los cultivos intensivos permitieron elevar el nivel disponible en el suelo, pero no el de reserva, debido a que estos suelos carecen de capacidad de fijación de este elemento. En relación al P, contrario a lo esperado, se obtuvo una respuesta satisfactoria con la aplicación de dosis moderadas de P (40 kg/ha/año) cuando se acompaño de enmiendas calizadas. El N tiende a mineralizarse en el periodo inmediato a la desforestación. Aplicaciones de 80 kg N/ha/año permitieron atender las necesidades del cultivo e incrementar los contenidos de N orgánico y de nitratos aumentando el N disponible en casi 20 kg/ha/año.
