dc.description.abstractA discussion is presented on the principles involved in determining the adequate capacity of farm turnouts. The method includes water soil-plant relationships based on a simple mathematical formula, as the principal basis, modified by other factors that should be considered when crops are irrigated. With one example, its simplicity and convenience is demonstrated. The method is a good criterion to design the capacity that farm turnouts should have if improvement in irrigation efficiency is required.es_ES
