Abstract

This article initiates a series that has as its main objective to make known three technological properties of Latin American woods which are not known, or very little known, in the national and international commercial markets. An invitation is being extended to the various wood technology laboratories that are working with Latin American material to send in contributions for this series. The methods, standards and specifications currently used by the Wood Technology Laboratory of the Inter-American Institute of Agricultural Sciences are presented
